Road Rage Voltage Regulator Orientation

Howdy folks,

Does the orientation of the 7815T in the road rage matter? If so, which side faces toward the board (as opposed to the edge) The pins were too thick to socket to test myself.

Also, if not using the voltage sag feature, can I just leave the trimmer on the new board off? Or do I have to add a resistor or jumper?

Thanks in advance for answering my most basic questions.

All the best,

SB

The regulator can only go one way.  Check the 7815T datasheet for the proper pin orientation.

You do not need a jumper if you are not using the sag.

The regulator should have the label facing up in the Road Rage. Make sure the large metal tab on the back does not touch the pads for the SAG trimmer underneath. I may have forgot to mention that part in the build doc.
